Dave , can you give me and maybe others ! some advice please . I tend to get caught up in a bad process which i label as "Cherry Picking ". It is a way of trying to get lucky by throwing a few selections into some sort of Multiple or similar. Frankly i am really bad at it !! I am not in a postion to act in a more Professional manner , be it financially or mentally unfortunately . I think i know the answer { pack it in ! } but would there be a more calculated way of approaching a "Cherry PIcking " method ? Daft question maybe !! Apologises in Advance !!

Hey Cobbs. Well I guess there are a few approaches you could take for multiples. First of all you could start with looking at handicaps and throw in a few different multiples containing one or two different yellows along with a few more that are perhaps shorter in the market with a positive %Edge. I think Betfred give a payout on lucky 15's for only one winner for example. But you could also do e/w trebles or 4-folds containing one yellow and some others with high strike-rates, regardless of the odds or focus on a top-2 rated runner that is a positive %Edge. These might not hit as often but when they do you should be rewarded.

The ratings have only been on the go for a few months and I won't have more data to hand until I build a results database, but life is a bit hectic at the moment so that might not be until May.

At the moment I'm doing selective top rated which are a bit hit and miss but the yellows are profitable when backed Each-way combined with a win only at BetfairSP as they often return at huge odds and the e/w bets when they place minimise losses.

I very rarely back multiples but I've been lucky so far with a few big payouts but it's very much dependant on how high they are rated, big figure of 10+ and value when the field is not massive.

I'll have a think on it a bit more and hopefully have an article on how best to use the ratings in June.

I also only really use free bets for multiples when I've had some kind of bonus, Skybet give £5 in free bets each month if you stake £30 or more which is something I have done and I also use some of the free footy games/free spins with Ladbrokes in exchange for Ladbucks which can convert to cash or Coral Coins which can also convert to cash, as well as some of the competitions on Coral, Paddy Power, Bet365 as you can build up a little bit of chump change over a month to throw at speculative multiples. I rarely use my own cash for them.
